“You, me, and a martini?” I asked. Lucky for this lady, the rather attractive gentleman didn’t refuse to share an Olive or two with me for this week’s 52 Weeks of Color Challenge, courtesy of the divine Ms. Luna Jubilee.
Olive was perfect, made me think of martinis, Mad Men, and thus.. the concept was born. Playing the role of the dashing man behind the wet bar, and reprising his role as my photographic enhancement is fellow blogger, DJ, and Vivi-putter-upper-with, Bouncer.
Olive let me be creative, I designed the set, building most of it. Heck, I even made the bowtie. If you look closely enough, it matches the wallpaper.

Tangerine Dream
For week 26 of Luna Jubilee’s 52 Weeks of Color Challenge , she went citrus.. Tangerine to be exact! I initially thought about going back to my rather *cough*redneck*cough* upbringing with a tangerine (safety orange) tank and some camoflage, only.. I couldn’t find the puffy vest I wanted! After chatting with the group for a few, I perused the Marketplace and decided to expand my color vocabulary and stumbled upon this lovely bikini.. with a tangerine sarong, that I didn’t end up using since the look just pulled itself together and didn’t need it! I picked up the Tropica Flip Flops in Vanilla, cute but I think they make my feet look flat and if you don’t have the anklet option on, you look weird.. well, I felt like Frankenstein, even with the Alpha layer.
The bracelets are my own, from [hoi palloi], and the shades from Role Optic and Necklace from Caroline’s Jewelry seemed to add off the finishing touches. I knew I wanted to hit the water.. on a boat.. so I found this SIM and a sailboat that called to me. It was great until this Baudi character decided that he was going to tool around, either to perv the chic in the bikini or just play with the boats while perving the chic in the bikini. At one point he rezzed this jumbo yacht and totally blocked my sunlight. I cursed under my breath, I’ll admit it. Because if there is one thing that this water baby doesn’t like, it’s some dude blocking her rays.

That Periwinkle in Your Eyes
Once upon a time, there was this great guy, blogger, and DJ who spoke a few magical words.. “We should do a post together”.. weeks and weeks later, it finally happened! Periwinkle was the name of the much awaited color courtesy of Luna Jubilee’s 52 Weeks of Color Challenge and I have to tell you, this has probably been the trickiest one for me to date! The handsome guy standing next to me, Bouncer, not so tricky to line up.. although his tale might be different considering how many times I made him get on and off… the poseball.. where was your mind?!? (It’s okay, I thought the same thing and smirked when I typed it out at first.) Hey.. I’m a glamazon, tweaking static poses comes with the territory.
After finding this delectable dress from Boudoir – I swear, I love those gorgeous frocks! I knew the look had to be romantic and whimsical. I kept it simple, the new windblown hair from Truth, these amazing heels from Pixel Mode (The skin tone matching card is AWESOME!!). Then came the tricky part.. finding a place to shoot. Well, I fell in love with the sim that Botanical is on, but no scripts, no building, etc. When I mentioned this to my dashing partner, he so graciously offered up his land and a whole mess of prims. I swear, the way to this girl’s heart is prims so I can get creative and make stuff! So I did! I made this absolutely beautiful and romantic garden in the sky, which became the location some 3,000 odd meters up in the air. Of course, it did cost him.. practically all of the prims he had left, but in my defense he DID tell me to go crazy.. just sayin’.
After all was said and done, our little 52 Weeks Partnership turned out fantastic. The hard part was picking just one pic .. but this one characterized his charm the best, and more is posted on my Flickr – so make sure you take a peek!!

Night in Bloom
Sometimes you just walk into a store and see it. That gorgeous piece that you simply have to have. That’s what happened the other day when I walked into ICING. Orchids are simply my absolute favorite flower. Sure, roses are easy.. and cliche. Not to say that I don’t adore a good rose garden.. but orchids are special. They aren’t common, you don’t see them every day, and often you have to go out of your way to find them. So when I saw Icing’s Orchid Delight, I knew right away I had to have this dress!
The shoulder piece is three separate prims, I had to make mine a little larger to accommodate the curves. The bottom does have that whole ‘skirt’ thing going, but I find with the gown attatchment at the hip, the rubenesqueness isn’t quite as noticeable. The earrings I snagged from Caroline’s a few weeks ago, the color just went beautifully.. accenting both the orchid blooms and the ones from the trees I found on Seychelles.

Wild Eggplant
Now this one, this one I knocked out wayyy early. As soon as I saw that Eggplant was the next color for Luna Jubilee’s 52 Weeks of Color Challenge, I knew what I wanted to do. It all started with the swipe of eye makeup from -DAMNED- , but the real jackpot find is the sleeves. They’re cupcakes. YES, cupcakes! As soon as I saw the Cupcake Sleeve tattoo from [Dead Carrot] I knew they had my name written all over them. The tattoo has a “sheer” option (not pictured) which is a lighter than the regular option, which I found to be darker but more vivid. Granted, to pull this look off I did have to take advantage of 2.5’s multi layering option with the tattoo layers.
I am digging the bustier from E R R A T I C. The prim add on has these great little studded details and it comes in several colors – including this shade.

Can I get your digits?
The delectable Ms. Berry had a passing thought.. one that we all get at some point in time, mostly has to do with.. does my butt look big in this? She even went as far as to post her own digits. Yes, we can come in all shapes and sizes and most of us have tweaked here and there to get the look we love and live with. It is nice, though, to see what someone else does.. how do they look like they do. I know there are definitely some skins that do not look nearly as good on me as they do another avie and I know it all comes down to my numbers. But you know what? That’s absolutely fine.
I love that I have pulled some of the RL features that makes me unique and strut them in SL.. like the shape of my nose, my mouth, my face.. my short waist, those kinds of things. Granted, my total Glamazon height is allll SL, but I love the way it all works together. It’s just so.. me! I don’t have to edit any hair, most things and poses work. There are some poses that aren’t exactly boob friendly, or don’t quite get along with the length of my arms and legs, and those all prim tops? Yeah.. I’m not even going to get started on the bottoms because Yes. Vivi does have back. But I love that I have back. Even in RL.. I love that I have curves, I may have an ass.. but damnit, it has one helluvah dangerous curve. And so, just like RL, my SL perfections and imperfections seem to mesh so well together.

Underneath Your Clothes
Have you ever wondered what she really wears under those suits? If it’s her, you know whatever it is it will be hot.. leaopard print slip, perhaps, or in this case, the Black Laced Panty Girdle from Deetalez. And honey, this is soooo not your grandmother’s panty girdle! Admittedly, I had no idea what to wear this with, I suppose a dress shirt might look hot, but ultimately I decided it needed nothing else. Not even a bra. It hits just under the breasts, and the overall look is pretty damn sexy.. so I’ve been told.
The issue with this garment (other than the boobless thing, but that’s not reeeealllly an issue) is that if you wear the jacket layer by itself, it’s crotchless. Okay, so throw on the pants or even the underpants layers, well, your wicked garden is covered up, but this slightly shaded section also shows up in the lace panel on the front from the midsection down (the back isn’t as noticeable). The solution is that you simply just have to wear the shirt layer or undershirt layer with either the pants or underpants layers to cover up and avoid the shadow. Granted, chances are he’s not really even going to notice. He’s probably going to end up just staring at your boobs. Which are indeed divine. But I digress, I love the cute prim bows at the hips that come along with this really quite unnecessary undergarment (because it’s SL, who really needs a panty girdle?).
Kept the other details simple, the black Lotus ring and bracelet from Mandala and the amazing heels from Pixel Mode. I swear, I love those things.. I should have just bought the fat pack.
So sweetheart, if he even has a hint about what’s underneath your clothes.. you know he’s definitely going to want to take you home.

Hot For Teacher
I found a super adorable dress on the Marketplace from Artilleri and had to stop by their Rockabilly inspired store and fell in love. It all started with a simple pair of glasses and as soon as I put them on, I knew I had to do a “Hot For Teacher” post. While I was there I picked up the fantastic pencil skirt which comes in several colors – but does do the whole skirt thing so a spare “skirt friendly” (aka tiny booty) shape comes in handy. I can’t say I’m a big fan of the whole skirt component in SL, but this one at least has a “slit” in the back so you don’t look completely ridiculous when you walk. (And I did love the little zipper accent!) I also found the cardi which also comes in several colors AND you have the option of plain or polkadots.. of course I went with the dots.
It’s ironic, the one piece that’s actually accenting the whole look is plain white – the blouse from Pink Outfitters. I went in looking for the sheer blouse, but found this instead and I found that I adored the tiny little button on the neck. Coordinating the look I went with the red rings and nails from Mandala (Buddah) – I found that even with small hands, the “size 20” seem to fit the best. The super fab heels are from Pixel mode – even though they’re scripted, I can TP with them (unlike some other brand of shoe). And because even teachers need to have a little fun.. not that the red nails and heels don’t count.. I threw in the star tattoos, even though I couldn’t find the store any longer (sorry guys!).
All in all, I think even I would be hot for teacher!

Wedding Whimsy
It’s insane. Those wedding gowns that literally cost over 5,000L. Considering all the other details, the location, the flowers, the hair, the bridesmaid dresses, etc. .. it is truly enough to drive a bride mad! Even worse if you’re on a shoestring budget, or at least want something.. let’s say.. reasonable. After working on Luna Jubilee’s 52 Weeks of Color listing for this current week.. White… I found some super cute white dresses that made me think.. hmmmm.. I bet this would make a pretty ‘alternative’ wedding gown. So, I sat on it. I kept it, and I am now proud to present a few of my picks for my very own SL Wedding Whimsy … aka.. “Wedding Dresses” for 600L or Less!

I love this color. Even better, I love this color when paired with either red or the pop of these hot pink wedges from Peqe. Time is flying by and it’s week 20 of Luna Jubilee’s 52 Weeks of Color, this time featuring the incredible Sky Blue. Yes, I am still in love with this hair from lamb!, see.. it works in so many different ways. I have to admit one of the things I like most about the whole challenge is all of the looks and designers I find. It is week 19 of Luna Jubilee’s 52 Weeks of Color Challenge and I’m NOT hitting the last day.. yay!!! This week eeeees Umber. I love the combination of chocolate shades and blue. They just work so very well together. I knew I wanted to post about this jacket from Mon Tissue as soon as I saw it, and I knew that it had to be paired up with something blue. Meanwhile, I am absolutely loving this hair from lamb! It’s part chic, part rock and roll, and works in countless ways that I may just stick with it for a bit. Maybe. I dunno. Perhaps I’m a slacker, coming in at the last day of the week for Luna Jubilee’s 52 Weeks of Color Challenge… but I’m in love. It’s true. Yes, Pixel Mode got me right here.. right in the heart with these new Lady T: Gloss heels (in Sunshine)! At first, it was simply lust, what got me hook, line and sinker? The skin tone matching notecard that came by clicking on that handy dandy little ‘HELP’ button! Someone took a helluvah lot of time to go through some of the larger skin brands and provide a cheat sheet that will help you perfectly match your ‘feet’ to the rest of your body and believe you me, that attention to detail.. to knowing what I need before I know I need it? That’s what got me. So yes, I am in love. You should definitely fall in love, too.

Lime in the Coconut
After I read lime, even electric lime for Luna Jubilee’s 52 Weeks of Color Challenge, all I could hear were the words “Put the Lime in the Coconut, you drank them both up” so naturally, I went to someplace tropical. I love this sunhat from GOS, it has a menu that lets you change the scarf color, the band, the brim (up, down – as pictured, flat), and all the extras. Toooooonnnnsss of combination options. I channeled my inner Rene Russo (a la The Thomas Crown Affair) and busted out this amazing red hair from lamb! and just the bottoms from The Whore Mansion. I’m now ready for my beach chair, my cabana boy, and my coconut with lime.

Alllllmost thought I wouldn’t make it this week. But I did.. YAY!! Here we are at Luna Jubilee’s Week 16 in the 52 Weeks of Color Challenge! I managed to work teal into my last week, so this week I decided to make with the teal and accessorize! I am absolutely loving the Take Flight necklace in Robin’s Egg from Mon Tissu. They have a fatpack you can pick up (which I soooo should have grabbed) or five different individual colors to choose from including black and silver. The pumps and cute hair (the band has several color options) both come from Elikatira. I love the contrast of the firey red with the teal color.. and after thinking about it and my last post, I’m sure you’re not surprised!

Helllooooo Week 14 of Luna Jubilee’s 52 Weeks of Color Challenge! Black. It’s the universal color that flatters and works in all kinds of ways. An LBD (Little Black Dress) would have been easy.. but blame it on Aerosmith, the first thing that came to mind was an overcoat. Black overcoat, or in this case the black trench from DeLa.. and sure, maybe she didn’t have anything on underneath, but sometimes it’s nice to have a little something to unwrap. It’s the allure. And perhaps, this once, he won’t be home late tonight, blackbird.

Drip, drip, drop
April showers may be months away, but it seems the wintery rains have been meandering about. When the skies are gray and cloudy, overcast, there needs to be a little bit of happy goodness and that’s just what I found in the Abstract Owl dress from auTre at a very, very reasonable price and matched up with some happy red boots from BAX, there is a little bit of brightness when it rains or pours.

After all that hairspray and make-up, I needed something a tad more demure to cleanse my fashion palate. So, I went to the comforting colors of gray and pink. All I could think about when I put this on was the tune my grandfather use to sing when he played the piano… Ain’t she sweet? See her walking down that street. Yes I ask you very confidentially, ain’t she sweet?

Girls Just Wanna Have Fun
It is crazy scary the kinds of things one can find in the mall these days.. from the hot pink lace cutout gloves to the hot pink and black zebra striped leg warmers, ladies and gentleman, the 80’s are sneaking in. I hit up a birthday party this past weekend where I went all out with ease thanks to the selections at the neighborhood mall. I even used up an entire small can of hairspray to finish off the blue metallic eyeshadow, hot pink frosted lipstick, and Madonna-esque “mole” accented look. It was awesome, it was scary, it was … well, go big or go home, right? But, could it translate into SL?
Yes, yes it could.
I was able to just about get my entire RL look down with a few items from the Marketplace (including these snakeskin heels.. love the color but my size “0” feet still manage to peek out the front.. wtf?) and a few other fave locations, mixing and matching along the way. It was fun to see if I could replicate the look, perusing my inventory to see what I had, picking up a few things to complete the look. After it was all said and done, I was reminded of a Dolly Parton quote, “It costs a lot of money to look this cheap.”
